Ready4Work is a nationally-recognized program that assists ex-offenders with re-entry into the community and workforce and effectively leads clients toward a productive life.
In 2014, under the visionary leadership of the Reverend Dr. R.B. Holmes, Jr., Pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Florida, aggressive steps were taken to develop a holistic, faith-based program to transform the lives of inmates and ex-offenders returning home from prison. Dr. Holmes felt that Bethel Baptist had a responsibility to offer HOPE for restoration to the many men and women who had served their sentences and were transitioning back into the community.
Florida’s criminal justice system releases as many offenders per year as is being incarcerated. On an annual basis, nearly 1,000 inmates are released into Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson and Wakulla counties. Unfortunately, within three years, an estimated 25% of those individuals will commit another crime and be rearrested and sentenced to a county jail or a state or federal prison.
